“To see the whole world in and through one's own back yard.”
Inspired by the detailed botanical drawings of Thomas Warner, this study of Gasteria bicolor seeks to capture the "bones" of the plant—the heavy, sculptural weight of its leaves contrasted against the delicate, reaching arc of its flower spike. During the printing process the residual ink on the board unexpectedly suggested a vast landscape – a new moody world had emerged from the printing process.
