This triptych was a challenge of scale: how much energy could I throw at a Mokulito board? Moving away from tight control, I used a hammer, nails, an angle grinder, and sandpaper to create a large, energetic canvas. Influenced by the wonderful use of negative space in Japanese art and the relationship between the object and the void, the capturing of these vibrant swathes of succulents at Electra Park ,evolved into something reminiscent of an underwater world.
