This piece explores an instinctual vigilance as a dog watches the open expanse, his owner somewhere out there on the ocean. Creating this print I allowed the timber’s heavy grain to dissolve the horizon line, grounding the dog at the water's edge as it stares intently into the unknown. I used the lithography process to allow the matrix to fill in, creating a soft atmosphere, mimicking coastal mist or moonlight.
